Every great idea
starts with a pitch…
Why I made TrailerFirst
I love movies. As a kid, I dreamed about being a movie director.
I also love movie trailers. The trailer is the pitch, where a movie first wins you over. Two minutes, the best shots, the music swelling. The excitement of things to come.
I've always had ideas for movies I'd love to see: reboots of shows I grew up with, sequels that never happened, stories that just never got made. I don't have a studio budget, but I can at least make the trailer.
TrailerFirst is where those trailers live. No budget, no crew, no greenlight needed… just the idea, and the Trailer, First.
How they're made
Each trailer is built from scratch: script, storyboards, shots, edit, music and sound. Modern AI video tools make it possible for one person to get close to the look of a real theatrical trailer, and I'm learning more with every one.
About AI
Isn't this just AI slop?
Fair question. A lot of AI video is slop: type a prompt, post whatever comes out. These aren't that. Every trailer starts with a script and a shot list, then hundreds of generations to get each shot right, then a real edit with music and sound design. AI is the camera; the vision, the taste and the hours are mine.
Isn't AI taking jobs from creatives?
I take that seriously. But nobody was ever going to hire a crew to make an Inspector Gadget trailer. Without these tools, this trailer simply wouldn't exist. Two years ago I couldn't have made it. Now I can share it with the world.
What's next
For now it's a place to share finished trailers. Down the road it might become a place where anyone can pitch an idea and help bring it to life. We'll see where it goes.
